Help and Guidance

Installing TRESSO.

TRESSO is a Windows desktop app. Installing it takes about a minute — download the installer, run it, and let it create its tray icon. Here is each step, including how to get past the Windows SmartScreen prompt.

Before you start: TRESSO runs on Windows and stays running in your system tray. The scheduler only posts while TRESSO is open and your computer is awake and online — so install it on the computer you keep on during your posting window.
Install in three steps
1. Download the installer
  1. Go to the Download page and download tresso-setup.exe.
  2. Save it somewhere easy to find, like your Downloads folder.
2. Run the installer
  1. Double-click tresso-setup.exe to start setup.
  2. If Windows asks for permission to make changes, choose Yes, then follow the prompts to finish installing.
3. Get past "Windows protected your PC"
  1. If you see a blue Windows protected your PC SmartScreen window, click More info.
  2. Then click Run anyway to continue the install. This is normal for a newly published app — a verified publisher signature is being added, after which this prompt will stop appearing.
First launch
  1. TRESSO opens and adds an icon to your system tray (near the clock). Keep TRESSO running — closing the window to the tray is fine, but the app must stay open for scheduled posts to go out.
  2. Next, activate your TRESSO license with your license key.
