What this does
Sends the post again to only the destination that failed, leaving every destination that already published untouched.
How to use it
- Open Archive Vault and find the post.
- Read which destination failed and why.
- Fix what it names - a reconnection, a missing Pin title - then retry that destination.
Good to know
A retry contacts only the failed destination. The destinations that already published are never contacted again, so a retry cannot post twice.
A post with one failed destination out of several is a partial result, not a failure. TRESSO marks a post as failed only when no destination published at all.
Instagram is retried for you in one case. Instagram sometimes rejects an upload and gives no reason; the same video usually goes through a little later. When that happens TRESSO schedules its own retry about 15 minutes later, for Instagram only, and tries at most twice. The post's details in Archive Vault say when the next automatic retry is due. Before each retry TRESSO asks Instagram whether the earlier upload was published after all; if it was, nothing is sent again and the post asks you to check Instagram. You can still choose Retry Instagram yourself at any time. If TRESSO was closed and the retry is more than six hours overdue, it waits for you instead of posting late.
From your phone. With Mobile Access set up, you can retry a failed destination from your phone - now or at a time you pick - or choose Don't post to that account. The failure email has a Fix on your phone link when the phone can fix it. This computer checks the request and runs it while TRESSO is running. Fixes that need the computer, such as reconnecting an account, show the steps instead. TikTok is always fixed on the computer.
Retrying does not create a new post or a second Archive Vault record. The same post keeps its history, and the retried destination updates in place.
