Data Deletion
1. How TRESSO stores your data
TRESSO is a local-first desktop application. Your videos, captions, posting queue, and connected-account credentials are stored on your own computer, not in a TRESSO cloud. TRESSO holds only a small amount of information on its servers: your account email (in our payment processor, Stripe, and our email provider, Brevo), your license record, and - when you connect a platform that uses a server-side login broker - the access token for that connection so scheduled posts can publish.
Because most of your data lives on your machine, you can delete the majority of it yourself at any time. The steps below cover both the local data and the limited server-side records.
2. Delete a connected platform's data (Instagram, Facebook, Threads, YouTube, Pinterest)
To remove the access and stored token for a connected account:
- Open TRESSO and go to Connections.
- Click Disconnect on the platform you want to remove. This deletes the stored access token for that account, including any token held by the TRESSO login broker on our server.
You can also revoke TRESSO's access directly from the platform: for Meta (Instagram, Facebook, Threads), open Settings → Apps and Websites (or Business Integrations) and remove TRESSO; for Google/YouTube, open your Google Account Security → Third-party access; for Pinterest, open Settings → Apps.
3. Delete local data on your computer
To remove the data TRESSO stores locally (videos in your queue, captions, settings, and credentials):
- Disconnect each platform in Connections (step 2).
- Uninstall TRESSO from Windows Settings → Apps.
- Delete the TRESSO application-data folder: press Win + R, enter
%APPDATA%\tresso, and delete that folder. This removes the local queue, settings, and stored credentials.
Uninstalling alone does not erase your local data. The Windows uninstaller intentionally leaves your application-data folder in place so you never lose work by accident, so step 3 (deleting the %APPDATA%\tresso folder) is required to fully erase local data. Note: the in-app "clear history", "clear queue", and "reset workspace" actions remove workspace content but keep your license and credentials, and cleared items may remain recoverable from a backup until the folder itself is deleted.
4. Delete your account and server-side records
To delete the information TRESSO holds on its servers - your license record and any broker-held connection tokens - email support@tressohq.com from your purchase email address with the subject "Data Deletion Request".
We will delete your license record and any server-held connection tokens, and remove your email from our mailing provider. We action verified requests within one month (extendable by up to two further months with notice) and confirm by email when complete.
Note: if you have an active paid subscription, deleting your data also ends your ability to use TRESSO. Cancel your subscription first (or ask us to cancel it as part of the request) to stop future billing.
Withdrawing consent is separate from deletion, and the website and the app are controlled independently. The website uses only strictly-necessary sign-in cookies on the account portal, so there is no analytics consent to withdraw there. Diagnostics/analytics and product-help email in the desktop app are opt-in and off by default; turn the analytics toggle off in the app to withdraw that consent, or ask us to do it.
5. Records we may retain
Transaction and billing records held by our payment processor (Stripe) may be retained where required for tax, accounting, fraud-prevention, or other legal obligations, even after a deletion request. These records are kept by Stripe under its own retention and privacy terms and are not used to identify you for marketing.
5A. Your other data rights and how to use them
Deletion is one of several rights. You can also ask us to give you a copy of the data we hold on our servers (access), provide it in a portable machine-readable format (export/portability), correct inaccurate data, restrict or object to processing, and withdraw consent you gave earlier (for example opt-in diagnostics in the app). The desktop app can already export your local workspace; we provide the server-held records on request.
To make any of these requests, use our support ticket form and choose Privacy Request, or email support@tressohq.com from your purchase email stating which right you want. We verify requests from your purchase email and respond to verified requests within one month (extendable by up to two further months with notice). If you are not satisfied, you may complain to your local data-protection supervisory authority. We have not yet appointed a representative under GDPR Article 27 or under the UK GDPR. Until we do, data subjects in the EEA and the UK can contact us at support@tressohq.com and may lodge a complaint with their local data-protection supervisory authority.
