Connect Claude

Step-by-step: add TRESSO to Claude and confirm the connection works.

What this does

Connects Claude to TRESSO so you can ask it about your posting work, and - if you allow it - ask it to carry out supported TRESSO actions.

Before you start

  • You need the Claude desktop application on this computer. The Claude website cannot connect to TRESSO, because TRESSO runs on your own computer and is not on the internet.
  • Keep TRESSO open and unlocked on this computer while you use the connection. TRESSO answers Claude from here, so a closed TRESSO is a connection that cannot answer.

How to use it

  1. In TRESSO, choose View only or View and make changes.
  2. Choose Connect Claude. TRESSO creates the connection file and shows you where it is.
  3. In Claude Desktop, install the TRESSO connection using the instructions below.
  4. Approve TRESSO in Claude.
  5. Return to TRESSO and choose Test connection.

TRESSO wrote the connection file. Install it in Claude Desktop:

  1. Open Claude Desktop.
  2. Open Settings.
  3. Choose Extensions.
  4. Choose Advanced settings.
  5. Find Extension Developer.
  6. Choose Install Extension…
  7. Select the TRESSO connection file.
  8. Approve TRESSO.

TRESSO is running and answering, and Claude has not opened a connection to it yet. Claude opens its connections when it starts, so once the TRESSO connection is installed in Claude Desktop, quit Claude completely and open it again, then choose Test connection.

Having trouble connecting?

  • If you cannot find Extension Developer in Claude - It is behind Advanced settings on the Extensions screen in Claude Desktop. Anthropic decides where that sits, so check Claude's own documentation if your version looks different.
  • If you installed the connection but TRESSO still says Not connected - Quit Claude completely and open it again - Claude reads its connections when it starts - then come back and choose Test connection.
  • If you cannot find the connection file - Choose Connect Claude again. TRESSO writes a fresh one every time and shows you where it is.
